A father and his son died after suffering an electric shock while trying to remove a borewell motor at their agricultural field in Koyyur village.

Koyyur Electric Shock: A father and his 20 year old son died after suffering an electric shock at their agricultural field in Koyyur village of Malhar mandal in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.

The deceased were identified as Kottekol Bapu, 48, and his son Manoj, 20. The family is from Marwadipalli village in Kataram mandal. The two were involved in agriculture and owned farmland on the outskirts of Koyyur.

The incident happened when Bapu and Manoj went to their field to remove a motor connected to a borewell. While working on the motor, both reportedly came into contact with electricity and suffered a severe shock.

The two could not be saved and died at the spot. Their deaths left the family and local residents in deep distress, as two members of the same household lost their lives in the incident.

Police reached the location after receiving information about the incident. A case was registered and an investigation was launched to determine exactly how the electrical contact occurred.

Officials are examining the circumstances surrounding the borewell motor and the electrical connection. Further details are expected after the investigation is completed.

The incident has also highlighted the risks involved while handling electrical equipment connected to agricultural borewells. Farmers often work with motors, pumps and electrical connections in fields, where a fault or exposed wiring can result in serious accidents.
