Doctor Misconduct Case: A serious incident at a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh has sparked concerns over the safety of healthcare workers after a woman doctor accused a BJP youth leader of misconduct and issuing death threats during an emergency duty shift.

The incident reportedly took place in the early hours of Thursday at Bundelkhand Medical College Hospital in Sagar. According to the complaint, a woman patient was brought to the emergency ward for treatment, accompanied by two men who allegedly behaved aggressively with doctors and hospital staff.

The woman doctor alleged that when she objected to their behavior, BJP Yuva Morcha executive member Anil Srivastava allegedly attempted to behave inappropriately with her and threatened to shoot her if she came outside the hospital premises. Nursing staff also claimed they were intimidated during the confrontation.

Following the complaint, police registered a case against Anil Srivastava and another individual under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Officials said efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused.

The incident triggered protests by doctors and nursing staff, who temporarily suspended services and staged a demonstration at the hospital entrance. The Junior Doctors Association warned that if the accused are not arrested within 24 hours, medical professionals across Madhya Pradesh could launch a statewide strike.

Doctors also questioned the security arrangements at government hospitals, saying such incidents create fear among healthcare workers, particularly women serving night shifts. After senior officials assured swift action, the protesting doctors resumed their duties, while police increased security around the hospital and continued the investigation.

Responding to the allegations, BJYM state president Shyam Tayal said he would first verify the facts before commenting on the matter.
