Hyderabad Airport Fees: Hyderabad Airport Proposes New Passenger Fee Structure for Arrivals and Departures

Hyderabad Airport Fees: Hyderabad Airport has proposed collecting user development fees from arriving passengers while reducing departure charges, with the revised tariff awaiting regulatory approval before implementation in the coming years.

Hyderabad Airport Fees: Passengers using Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport may soon see a major change in airport charges, as GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited has proposed a revised User Development Fee structure that includes fees for arriving passengers.

Under the proposal, the airport operator plans to reduce the fee currently collected from departing passengers while introducing a separate charge for those arriving at the airport. The revised tariff has been submitted to the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority for approval and will be implemented only after receiving final clearance.

According to the proposal, domestic passengers departing from Hyderabad Airport would pay a reduced User Development Fee of Rs 580 instead of the current Rs 750, while passengers arriving at the airport would be charged Rs 170. For international travelers, the departure fee is proposed at Rs 1,150, with an arrival fee of Rs 350.

The proposed tariff is intended for the fourth control period, covering September 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031. GMR has also suggested further reductions during the final year of the period. Between April 2030 and March 2031, domestic passengers could pay a combined fee of Rs 520, while international travelers may pay Rs 1,140, resulting in lower overall charges compared with the current rates.

Airport officials said the objective is to distribute the fee between departures and arrivals instead of collecting the entire amount only when passengers leave the airport. Similar fee structures are already in place at several major airports across India, and Hyderabad Airport aims to adopt the same model.
