Google Pixel 11a Leak Hints at Tensor G6 Chip and Upgraded Face Unlock

A fresh leak suggests the upcoming Google Pixel 11a could feature a Tensor G6 processor improved face unlock technology 120 Hz display and refined hardware ahead of its expected launch.

Ahead of the expected launch of the Google Pixel 11 series, fresh leaks have revealed key details about the rumoured Pixel 11a, the affordable model that could join the lineup. While Google has not officially confirmed any specifications, the latest reports provide an early look at what users may expect from the next generation budget Pixel smartphone.

According to the leaked information, the Pixel 11a is expected to feature Google’s new Tensor G6 processor paired with a MediaTek M90 modem. The smartphone could also include 8 GB of RAM, offering improved multitasking and smoother overall performance for everyday applications.

The display is tipped to be one of the major upgrades. The device may come with a 6.3 inch screen offering a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and gaming. Reports also suggest HDR brightness could reach 2250 nits, while peak brightness may climb to an impressive 3350 nits, improving outdoor visibility and multimedia viewing.

Another important improvement could arrive in the front camera system. The leak claims Google is working on a new selfie camera sensor, reportedly carrying the codename Dokkaebi. Along with the upgraded sensor, the company is also expected to enhance its face unlock technology, making it faster, more secure and more reliable in low light conditions compared with previous Pixel devices.

Security may receive additional attention as well. The Pixel 11a is expected to include Google’s Titan M3 security chip, which is designed to strengthen device protection and safeguard sensitive user data against various security threats.

The smartphone is also expected to launch in four colour options including Obsidian Black, Olive Green, Frost Purple and Fog Silver, giving buyers a wider range of finishes to choose from.

Battery capacity, however, could see a slight reduction compared with the previous model. According to the leak, the Pixel 11a may feature a 4870 mAh battery, whereas the earlier Pixel 10a reportedly carried a rated battery capacity of 5100 mAh. It remains unclear whether Google has introduced other battery optimisations to compensate for the smaller capacity.

The Pixel 11 series is widely expected to make its debut in August, with reports pointing to a launch during the second week of the month. Until Google makes an official announcement, all leaked specifications should be treated as preliminary information and may change before the final product is unveiled.

If the reported features prove accurate, the Pixel 11a could offer a balanced combination of Google’s latest processor, enhanced display technology, stronger security features and improved camera capabilities, making it a compelling option in the mid range smartphone segment.
