Operation to Topple Vijay Government Alleged as TVK Claims Cash Offers to MLAs

Tamil Nadu politics has turned tense after TVK alleged a conspiracy to topple the Vijay government, claiming several MLAs were offered up to Rs 50 crore to switch political loyalties.

Tamil Nadu’s political atmosphere has heated up after serious allegations emerged over an alleged attempt to destabilise the government led by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. The ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has claimed that several of its legislators were approached with massive cash offers to defect, triggering an investigation by the authorities.

According to sources, the controversy came to light after a TVK MLA filed a formal complaint. Acting on the complaint, investigators arrested three people, including an employee of a consultancy firm. One suspect was taken into custody in Chennai, while the other two were arrested in Karur. Officials have begun detailed questioning to determine the full extent of the alleged network.

During the investigation, officials reportedly found links between the accused and DMK MLA Senthil Balaji. Investigators are now examining whether a wider political operation was being carried out and are working to identify everyone allegedly involved in the case.

TVK leaders have accused the DMK of joining hands with AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami in a bid to bring down the Vijay government. They alleged that individuals connected to Senthil Balaji and a group referred to as the Karur gang were actively approaching TVK legislators with financial inducements to change their political allegiance.

The allegations became more dramatic after a senior TVK minister claimed that the party’s legislators were repeatedly contacted with offers ranging from Rs 10 crore to Rs 50 crore. The minister alleged that not a single TVK MLA was left out and that every legislator had been approached as part of the alleged operation.

The minister further claimed that the effort was being carried out under the direction of senior DMK leaders, including Chief Minister M K Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin. The DMK has not responded to these allegations. Meanwhile, TVK has urged the police to take strict legal action against everyone involved and ensure that such attempts to influence elected representatives are thoroughly investigated.
