Telangana E Cabinet Meetings: Telangana Moves Towards Digital Governance With Electronic Cabinet Meetings
Telangana E Cabinet Meetings: Telangana is preparing to introduce electronic cabinet meetings as part of its digital governance initiative, aiming to improve transparency, security, efficiency, and faster decision making across government departments.

Telangana E Cabinet Meetings: Telangana is set to take a major step in modernizing government administration with plans to conduct cabinet meetings through a fully digital system. The initiative has received approval from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who is pushing for faster and more transparent governance across the state.
Under the new system, ministers will no longer depend on physical files and printed documents during cabinet meetings. Instead, each minister will be provided with advanced digital tablets that will allow them to access agenda notes, proposals, and official documents electronically. Officials from the Information Technology and General Administration departments are currently working on the required infrastructure and technical arrangements.
The state government is expected to use a highly secure software platform developed by the National Informatics Centre. Through this platform, cabinet related documents and confidential proposals will be shared digitally, reducing the risk of information leaks and improving the protection of sensitive government data.
Officials believe the move will significantly improve the speed of administrative processes. Cabinet decisions and resolutions can be recorded instantly in digital format, allowing quicker implementation and better monitoring of government actions. The digital system is also expected to strengthen accountability by maintaining organized electronic records of all major decisions.
Apart from improving efficiency, the initiative supports the government’s broader objective of implementing a paperless administration. The reduction in paper usage is expected to lower operational costs and contribute to environmental sustainability. The state has already been working towards introducing paperless practices across departments, directorates, commissionerates, and the Secretariat.
To review the feasibility of the project, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao recently conducted a high level meeting with senior officials from the IT and General Administration departments. The review focused on tablet performance, software security, and network connectivity to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.
Several Indian states have already implemented paperless cabinet systems with positive results. Telangana is now preparing to join that list as officials accelerate arrangements to conduct an upcoming cabinet meeting either on a pilot basis or entirely through the electronic platform.
