Nissan has launched the new Tecton SUV in India with turbo petrol engine options premium features advanced safety technology and deliveries scheduled to begin from July 20 this month
Nissan Tecton Launched in India: Nissan has strengthened its presence in India’s highly competitive mid size SUV segment with the launch of the all new Tecton. The SUV carries a starting ex showroom price of Rs 10.49 lakh, while the fully loaded variant is priced up to Rs 18.59 lakh. Bookings will open on July 9 and customer deliveries are scheduled to begin from July 20.
The Tecton marks Nissan’s return to the mid size SUV category after the company discontinued the Kicks in 2023. The latest model will compete with several established rivals, including the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
Customers can choose between two turbo petrol engine options. The 1.0 litre engine delivers 100 bhp and 166 Nm of torque and comes paired with a six speed manual gearbox. Nissan claims a fuel efficiency of 19.4 kmpl for this version.
For buyers looking for stronger performance, the 1.3 litre turbo petrol engine produces 163 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. It is available with either a six speed manual transmission or a six speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The company says this variant delivers a mileage of 18.5 kmpl.
The SUV features a bold exterior with LED headlamps, connected daytime running lights, 18 inch alloy wheels and connected LED tail lamps. It also offers 212 mm of ground clearance and a wheelbase measuring 2657 mm, giving it a strong road presence.
Inside the cabin, Nissan has equipped the Tecton with a 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster. Other premium features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats and a powered tailgate.
Safety has been given equal importance with six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 360 degree camera, blind spot assist, electronic parking brake and parking sensors at both the front and rear. Nissan also stated that the SUV is built on a platform that has already earned a five star Bharat NCAP safety rating, adding confidence for buyers looking for a secure family vehicle.
